The Good, the Bad and the Ugly

I haven't seen "The Good, the Bad and the Ugly". I've just heard the title track, and much to my mother's chagrin, have made a point to play it out loud after telling her I have a sentimental song for her to listen to. It never gets old.

As of this moment, on the 2nd of January in the year 2022, under the "Good" column, I have zilch to report. Then again, that's probably me just being pessimistic, but the upside is that whatever happens, I'll either be right or pleasantly disproved. It's a win-win.

Under the "Bad" column, let me see. One, I still haven't seen my college. Two, night curfews and COVID-19 spikes are upon us once more. Third,(and I'm just griping for the sake of it, or I'm actually still cut up about it- take your pick) I'm still blocked by a close friend and am no closer to getting unblocked.

Coming to the "Ugly" column now. I'm not a prejudiced or a biased person, so this was a difficult one, but thankfully the decision was taken out of my hands. I had a really good breakfast today, as it happens. There's just something about kachoris in the morning that lifts spirits. And the newspaper bag in which it came happened to be emblazoned with an advertisement of Kangana Ranaut as "Thalaivi" all across it.

If there's a more random thing that can put someone off their appetite in the morning, I'm yet to see it. Either way, I managed to ignore her glare as I finished my meal and it did feel good. Her glare is easy to evade, unlike her vocal opinions, so I was quite relieved on that count as well.

Before anyone gets offended, I do not support any political parties- I just choose to play Devil's advocate. There's just something so guilty but enjoyable while doing that. Kind of like a cheat day, but without worrying about the calorie count. I just have to worry about the blood pressure of the uncle who chooses to start the debate, but that's only when the vein on his forehead begins to bulge.

It's a new year and people are making resolutions, getting motivated and finally taking decisions they had put off for a long time. It's good that people are doing that; sometimes, a time-frame is necessary to be able to make a change. However, if something or someone does need changing, then they don't really wait around for a time-frame; they just do it. Nike ought to be proud of these people, I suppose.

I've seen both kinds of people. The funny part is that there are innumerable other people who don't believe they need to do anything at all-and this makes me laugh. There are several reasons for that, but I'll leave it up to you to guess what they are. Adios!
